Our Website       Contact Us Sunday 21st June 2009

Welcome,

AT Oaklands Stud we have a straightforward philosophy.  We want the best for our clients and, in turn, we want the best for those horses which have been put in our care.  Therefore, we strive to be the best in everything we do. We purposefully seek out the best methods we can utilise to maintain the health and well-being of the breeding herd.  We also look for the best ways to raise young thoroughbreds.  In many instances it means blending the best practices of yesteryear with the latest advancements.  We live and function in a world which moves quickly and where change is one of the few constants.  But something which never diminishes at Oaklands Stud is our commitment to be the best; it is out ethic to be superior in every regard.  We are fiercely protective of our reputation as a leader in the thoroughbred breeding industry and we are proud to have produced horses of the highest calibre.  But this only fuels our desire to be superior.
In 2009-10 we will stand the English and Hong Kong victor Chateau Istana; the electrifying fast All Bar One, Ascot Vale Stakes and Magic Millions winner Ferocity, Zabeel's superbly built half-brother Break The Vault, and Nureyev's Group 1 placed son Pure Theatre.
In this newsletter we will focus on CHATEAU ISTANA AND ALL BAR ONE but remember the latest advertisements for all of our stallions are available on this website.
If I can assist further please contact me.

CHATEAU ISTANA (Grand Lodge (USA) x Miss Queen (USA) by Miswaki)
Group 2 winning juvenile
CHATEAU ISTANA
also raced as CHATEAU KING PRAWN when based in Hong Kong.
He won five races including the £40,000 Listed Royal Ascot Windsor Castle Stakes over five furlongs in June 2004, less than a month after capturing his maiden at Leicester. He added a third win in his opening season in the £70,000 G2 Doncaster Flying Childers Stakes in September, 2004. The following year he was transferred to Hong Kong and won another two events over 1000 metres – confirming his rating as a sprinter of the highest calibre.
Nothing less was to be expected of him considering his genetic structure is close to perfect. He has Danzig in the third generation on the top side and is from a daughter of the champion sire Miswaki and also has Mount Hagen and the Young Emperor on his dam’s side.
CHATEAU ISTANA was being readied for a G1 sprint in Australia but was injured and retired to stud duty.
CHATEAU ISTANA’S service fee for 2009-10 is $7,700 incl GST.
CHATEAU ISTANA was retired to stud in 2007 and has served two quality books of mares and the progeny are well developed and beautiful stock.
