TSUIMAI'S SON HAS EARNED A CHRISTMAS TRIP TO BRISBANE

TSUIMAI'S three-year-old son has earned a Christmas trip to Brisbane after bulldozing his way to a second successive Clifford Park victory on December 19.
Released (Tsuimai-No Reserve-Gone West) took a sizeable step up at his seventh race start when he jumped from a maiden win to score a last-stride victory for jockey Adam Best, in the XXXX Gold Class 2 Handicap (1300m), after racing near the rear of the field under hard riding approaching the home turn.
Best said while the race leaders laboured home over a slowly run final 600 metres (39.11 seconds) Released was able to maintain his momentum throughout in a game performance.
“He did the same in his maiden win – it was hard work,” Best said
“I got him to settle nicely in the first 100 metres but I was at him all the way from there.
“The leaders luckily came back to him at the finish but he maintained the same momentum throughout and did a good job.
“He’s really crying out for more ground now.”
Released'strainer Mark Webb has selected a Three-Year-Old Handicap over 1500 metres at Doomben on December 28 as Released’s next assignment.
“I think he’s got the makings of a very good horse and I thought that was an absolutely outstanding effort for a three-year-old,” Webb said.
“He jumped from maiden company to a Class 2 and he had to work hard all the way to earn his win.
“When they do something you don’t really expect them to do it’s usually a pretty good sign.”
